Irrational Fears

Everyone is scared of something. Whether it be spiders, snakes, or the dark, we all have that one thing that just freaks us out beyond sanity. Mine? Michael Myers. Yes, the fictional character from the Halloween movies with Jamie Lee Curtis.

I mean, I'm even having a hard time looking at this picture. That mask just freaks me the eff out.

 

 

It all started when my best elementary friend decided to have a "Scary movie night" for Halloween. Sounds fun, right? Well for little 12 year old me, it was not. Watching this man kill his sister then hunt down poor Jamie Lee in that dreadful mask has haunted me ever since. To make matters worse, when my dad brought me home that night, he said he had "things to do" in his shop, so I had to walk what seemed like 23432 miles to the back door alone. Then my wonderful father decided to sneak up and grab me in the darkness. Scarred for life.

Seriously, I have nightmares about him. On halloween, I avoid people dressed up as him. And godforbid if Derek ever wore that mask (which he has threatened to do) because I would probably put a coat hanger in his eye (even though we all know that didn't work).

 

The sad part, I keep watching the movies. I do believe I have seen all Halloween movies including the terrible Rob Zombie rendition.
