How to: Dutch-braided crown

Well guys, I made it to another round of #vloglikeaboss with Ashten, you should be proud. However, this was filmed around 9:30 last night (aka past my bedtime) so excuse me if I look a little tired. Or say things that don't make sense. Also this is my very first ever in the history of ever tutorial. I hope you like it.

Favorite posts of the week:
Meg made a 2014 bucket list of things that scare her a little
Ashten told us about her shit
Whitney told us to be the Beyonces of our blogs
(technically that was last week but I don't care)

Speaking of Whitney, it's Friday and that means we #backthatazzup today.
I'm really tempted to put Pachelbel's Canon in D here, because I can't get enough of it recently, but I will spare you all. But then there's this and I'm sorry not sorry, I freaking love it.

Apologies, but that's really all I've got for you today. It's late and I'm tired. Good day to you.

Some of my Favorite Things

It's #vloglikeaboss day again!!
(Why must youtube always choose the LEAST attractive frame to screenshot??)

Some things you may have seen:

Coffee mug tutorial anyone??
I know, she needs a cleaning.
And because I can't just leave you hanging without mentioning some other Friday Favorites, check these out:

Mr. Thomas and Me wrote about The Little Drummer Boy (and girl) and you should be prepared to be blown away.

Allie and Juliette came up with their own insta hashtag and prompts for the 12 days before Christmas (starts today) and I'm going to TRY my best to participate. I'm really bad at keeping up with these things.

Ashten defined beauty for us.

Kylie is a brand new sponsor of mine and you should go say hi to her. (PS I designed her blog)

What are some of YOUR favorite things??

Friday Favorites + Sponsor Spotlight

Happy Friday and welcome to another episode of Friday Favorites, plus a vlog. This one isn't 15 minutes like the last one, so hopefully it will be a little more bearable! Some of my favorite things from the week:

We didn't win the chili cook-off :(

Favorite posts:
As I mentioned in my vlog the Harry Potter link up was friggin fantastic! These were my favorites: Kate from The "Florkens" took a different approach and wrote about what lies behind the veil. Reminding us that the ones who love us, even though they have left the physical world, are never truly gone. The post definitely tugged at my heart strings.

I also LOVED Miranda's (from Young, and in Progress) take on the link up. She wrote a heartfelt letter to Harry and friends about the day she first read the book, and about how Harry Potter as a whole has been with her for 15 plus years. It gave me chills reading it!

Favorite tweets:
(it's been a while since I've posted tweets, so some of these may be a little old)

If there's anyone I hate in football, it's Steve Spurrier

Agreed. 100%.

Well, I never think I want to get pregnant, but if I did, these thoughts would immediately follow.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I have Sara from Pearls and Curls answering a few questions! Sara was the first "big blog" I ever sponsored and we've been friends ever since, so I am so excited to introduce her today!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog:
For starters, I'm a 20-something college girl and when I'm not in the classroom, I work as a nanny! I absolutely love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I'm an avid reader, soccer & college basketball fan, and I can never pass up a new nail polish collection. My blog reflects all of the things going on in my life at the moment. I talk a lot about sports, rant & rave on certain topics, and really just post on whatever! It gets pretty random at times!

You are a HUGE soccer fan, how did you got into the sport and why you continue to watch today?

I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old! My parents wanted me to try many different sports and not push me into a certain one. After starting soccer, I went into gymnastics, tap & ballet, and figure skating. I stuck with figure skating for a long time but we ended up moving a considerable distance from the rink so it just wasn't an option anymore. After that, I went back to soccer and didn't stop playing until college! My dad was the one who really instilled my love of the sport. He spent many years stationed in Germany while in the Army and it was there that he learned all about it & became an avid fan himself! I watch today because I feel that it's extremely important to support not only the U.S. National Team but specifically women's soccer! After a few failed attempts at a league, the recent NWSL is very promising and looks to be here for the long haul. We have so many talented women soccer players & they deserve a chance to truly shine. Not to mention, these are the women that young girls look up to so we owe it to them to maintain support so that a league will be there for them when they get older.

Tell us all a little about your newest addition, Baron, and what made you choose adoption?
Ahh, I just love him so much! He's a 5 month old rednose Pitbull puppy and the center of our world! We chose adoption because all of our other animals were rescues and it's just very important to my family. The shelter he was adopted from is a kill-shelter and due to overcrowding, they were going to have to start another cycle of euthanizing dogs to make room for others coming in. Baron was on the critical list and needed to be adopted ASAP!

We got there on that Sunday afternoon right when they opened to meet him & it was love at first sight! We're so happy to have him in our lives and I strongly urge others to consider animal adoption when thinking about adding a fur-baby to your household!

If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would definitely take care of my student loans, help my parents out with moving back to Kentucky, make a generous donation to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, and use the rest to jump start a new life in Seattle!

Lastly, share some of your favorite posts with all of us!
You can find a few of my favorite posts here, here, and here!

Maybe I should have put on makeup for this...

Today I'm so freaking excited to be linking up my FIRST ever vlog with Ashten from Always Ashten. I ask that you don't laugh too hard at my complete and total awkwardness (especially toward the end...) or do laugh, it's okay because I probably won't know.

Per usual I am linking up with Whitney for #backthatazz up Friday! One song I will NOT be using is Gorilla by Bruno Mars. What in heaven's name was he thinking agreeing to sing that song? I can't even.

But here is a song that will never get old.
