Finally, a weekend to blog about

The past few weekends have been pretty mild and un-blogworthy around these parts. I'm putting most of the blame on Breaking Bad. Derek and I started the show on Netflix a few weeks ago and it has been consuming our evenings and weekends, because we were SO READY to finish it. I'll admit, the last three episodes were NOT what I was expecting (actually I'll go as far as saying I was pretty unhappy with the overall ending of the show) but nonetheless, it was an awesome show and I recommend it to anyone looking for something to watch.

Friday night, we didn't do anything but watch BB. Saturday morning we watched the last two episodes and then played the never ending game of "I don't know, what do you want to do?" We finally decided to go to Chewalca State Park in Auburn, then our plan was to wonder around and find some friends to tailgate with.

We started waaaayyy up at the top of these falls and made our way down.

Derek, of course, refused to stand for a picture so this is all I got. Contemplating which path to take.
The creek at the end of the falls and the spillway at the very beginning.

It was a great day for hiking/exploring.
After we hiked around for a few hours, we drove over to Auburn's campus and walked around a bit. Derek suggested going to the ATM to get some cash to see if we could find some people selling cheap tickets, so we could actually go to the game instead of tailgating.

We actually ended up getting really good tickets from a rather sketchy gentleman on the side of the road. I was so worried the tickets would be fake (I know a few friends that this has happened to) but we ended up getting lucky! We watched the first half from our seats then met up with some of Derek's friends for the second half.

It ended up being a great game with Auburn holding the lead until the end, and I'm so glad we made the spur of the moment decision to buy tickets. After the game we went out downtown with Derek's old college roommate and some other friends. I haven't been out to a bar like that since Derek graduated, and let me tell you, my old bones can't hang anymore!

Yeah, that happened. I think it's definitely a sign of "maturity" when you complain that the music is too loud, your feet hurt from standing too long, you don't make it on to the dance floor, and you're ready to go home by 11. But I really did enjoy myself, despite the fact that I wasn't in bed until after 2:30 AM (that hasn't happened in months).

Sunday we washed cars and layed around blogging and watching NASCAR and cursing tropical storm Karen for putting a damper on what could have been a nice day.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like a great weekend. That park is gorgeous. I specifically will not watch breaking bad bc I know I will get sucked into it. And I bring ear plugs with me at all times for these types of situations.

I'm glad you had such a fun weekend and a good time at the game! As a ticketing nerd/employee I'm also glad you didn't get scammed. We turn people away every.single.game. who have bought fakes!
