#sayyesproject: my first blate

Today I'm linking up with Amber from Mr. Thomas and Me for her monthly #sayyesproject link up. A week or so ago I said yes when Ashten invited me to visit her and Meg in Atlanta the day after Thanksgiving, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. 
I got home Thursday night from my parent's house with nerves up to my eyeballs. I was driving two and a half hours to hang out with two girls who I had never met in real life before. I don't think "nervous" could really describe how I was feeling. Would they like me? Would I like them? What would we talk about? I was excited.

So Friday I loaded up in my car and drove to Atlanta, missed my exit, turned around twice, and finally got to Ashten's house with nervous sweaty armpits and a six pack of Angry Orchard.
We started the day off with lunch at a delicious little BBQ joint. It's probably the best BBQ I've had since my parents closed their restaurant, and that's saying something.

Afterward we headed back to Ashten's for football watching and some blog talk. After taste testing some beer and playing with Warner (Ashten's adorable puppy dog), we headed to watch the Atlanta Hawks play the Dallas Mavericks in Phillips arena. When we got there, I realized I left my phone at the house and I was really sad because that meant I couldn't snapchat the game or post anything to instagram or live tweet. Hashtag first world problems. So, sorry if you see some duplicate pictures, because they were nice enough to share with me.

After the game we went out with a few of Ashten's friends in Atlanta. We went to a place called Johnny's, and it was dark and smoky and filled with old people dancing to eighties jams and I absolutely loved it. Even though I stayed out until after three in the morning which hasn't happened since I was in college but we danced and took shots called dirty girl scouts and we people watched and we had mother effing blast. 
Can I just say that these ladies are so awesome and it was so easy talking to them. I don't know that I've ever connected with two people so quickly and effortlessly. We talked about everything from blogging to boys to our weight and esteem issues. We talked about football and pets and beer and basketball and had an absolutely amazing time. I'm so happy I took a chance and said yes, I'm so happy I met these two awesome ladies, and I'm so happy for this blog, because without it, I wouldn't have had this opportunity.
