Favorite things

Is it me or has this week just flown by? (Can I change that statement to year?? How is it the last day of January?) Maybe it was the nice little vacation "weather day" in the middle of the week but I'm not complaining one little bit. I feel like I've skimmed on blogging this week, I haven't had too much to say. Or, rather, I've had a good bit to say but I can't seem to put the words on paper blog. Thankfully Fridays are easy... I get to talk about my favorite things. Favorite Tweets
But really, how do all of you bloggers get these great pictures for your blog? I'm really tempted to pay someone because I'm too scared to ask Derek.

Favorite Blog Posts I try reeeeally hard not to feature someone two weeks in a row (I don't want anyone to think I'm playing favorites) but you guys.... Lisa is my favorite. I was an avid reader of hers when she first started blogging, but somehow I fell off the wagon (sorry Lisa) but now I'm back in full stalker mode for good. Her rebuttal post this week to this infuriating article was pure genius. I myself was seeing way too much red to try and write a response, and then I realized I didn't even need to - Lisa basically took all the words I was thinking and put them on her blog so nicely. PS: We just found out we have the same birthday!

Kayla from My Kind of Yellow posted earlier this week about her smart phone - and how it's ruining her quality time with her husband. It really got me thinking, how often is my face in my phone when it doesn't need to be (too often). So I've made a resolution to not use it as much when I'm at home. What makes it easier is just turning the data completely off. That way, there aren't any notifications constantly buzzing at me and when I go to instagram and get the "cannot refresh feed" message, it's so much easier just to put it down.

Have I ever told you how jealous I am of Ashten? Well I am. This week she told us about going to prom with Jimmy Moon (from 7th Heaven). But that's not it... she's also met two other celebrities (Mark Whalberg and Andrew Keegan). It's rare for a "normal" person to meet even one celebrity in their life time, but she's met THREE. TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.


I don't have a favorite video this week but I do have some exciting news: Derek and I are looking at our first set of houses tomorrow morning! I couldn't be more excited about it. Ever since we found out we were approved, I have spent every expendable hour looking at houses online and now we're finally looking at some for real. You guys really couldn't understand how thrilled I am. Now it's time to back my azz up into the weekend with Whitney.

Okay, I know you can't really back anything up to this, but I've been really into simple and classical music lately, especially when I'm writing or working or studying. Maybe that's another reason I want to learn piano. How can you listen to something so beautiful and not be drawn to create something beautiful yourself?
