The Five Stages of Blating

So everyone's heard of the five stages of grief, right? They're denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, if you haven't. Well, likewise to grief, there are also five stages of blating, and they are as follows.

1. Nervous excitement You may have thoughts similar to: "I can't believe I just agreed to meet someone I only 'know' via the internet." or "I can't believe I'm going to meet one of my favorite bloggers!" Similar to the way we feel before going out on a first date, we're a little nervous but mostly excited to see what is about to happen.
2. Uncertainty During this stage you may feel a little unsure of your decision. Thinking, "What if she's catfishing me or what if she doesn't act like I think she will?" or worse, "What if she doesn't like me and thinks I'm boring?" or even worse, "What if I come across as a total stalker?" You may have thoughts of cancelling because you'd rather keep your relationship like it is: perfect and online only.
3. True excitement This stage usually happens during the day before and the day leading up to the blate. You are freaking pumped. You jam out to Katy Perry, Miley, and Justin Timberlake the entire way to your blate because you just can't help it. Your hair and your makeup are perfect because you want to make a good first impression and you were sure to put on deodorant (this time).

4. Pure joy You have met your blogging soul mate! How could you ever think that you wouldn't get along with this awesome person you met via the internet?? You and her were obviously meant to be.

You share stories from your past and fears about your future, and connect on, like, a whole other level. You even try to share a bed with her and her dog and feel really bad when you roll over and squish him. Or is that just me?
5. Sadness Your blate is over and you have to go back to real life. Whether it was two days or two hours, the time went by way too fast and you hug and maybe you even tear up in the car on your way home because how is it possible to become instant best friends with someone and then just leave them for who knows how long?
