Jetskis and PJs

First of all, as you can see, I did a little bit of a blog-makeover and I love it. I have changed the look several times since I started this here blog and have felt eh, okay about all the looks I have chosen. I've always wanted something simple. I love black and white, but I didn't want it to be too boring so I added a little pop of color. Bada-bing-bada-boom, perfect! I hope you all like it cause its here to stay (for a while anyway). So my weekend:

Friday night I worked late (getting some OT in) and then joined some friends at our local hole-in-the wall bar for a beer or two and some dancing.

Bh
My tired feet after working TWO sixteen hour shifts in a row.

Saturday/Sunday D and I worked on his jet ski. For the past few days we have been de-turfing it. If you don't know what that means, consider yourself lucky. Its tough work. Basically we scraped hydro turf off his ski until our fingers bled. Literally on my part.

Just getting started with the sides.

The middle.

Derek pulling off the last piece! Still not anywhere near finishing the whole project, but that's okay. Progress!

Saturday we went out to eat at Baumhower's, our favorite wing place. Technically Derek is the only one that eats wings...I prefer the wangs (just large chicken tenders). They're definitely less messy than actual bone-in wings. My new favorite flavor is Jamaican Jerk and it is divine. Try it.

After our finger-lickin' good wings and wangs, we headed back home for a lazy evening of blogging and Call of Duty...my kind of Saturday night, the kind you spend in your pajamas.

Also weird selfies of myself in said pajamas.

Sunday night I caught this beautiful moment walking in to the house.
I knew God was an Auburn fan. War Eagle.

She works hard for the money

So this weekend can pretty much be summed up in to one word: WORK. The kind I got paid for and the kind I didn't. Thursday and Friday I packed my entire apartment and cleaned it from top to bottom. Saturday, Sunday, and today I was at my actual place of work makin' dat paypuh. I don't have much else to say about my weekend except that clauses in your lease can bite you in the but and also I'm never moving again. Just kidding. I will. One day.

But here's some fun stuff:
I got this Vera Bradley Breakaway Lanyard in Jazzy Blooms for work. I really wanted to get a matching bag but they didn't have one in the size I wanted at the store.

I need this shirt in my life.

Randomly looking at pictures of cats on the interweb. The usual.

This, too, needs to be in my life.

Someecards, you hit the nail on the head.

Daytona Freeride 2013

This past weekend was so much fun. As you read, we left at about 8:30 Thursday night, and arrived in Daytona Beach around 4:30 Friday morning. Of course D didn't let anyone but himself drive but I contributed by bringing snacks and keeping him awake with my superb conversation skills.

Once there we immediately fell into bed an passed the F out (being up for 24 hours is no fun). This is what went down over the next two days:

20 mph winds all day Friday. Does not good hot tub weather make.

Waves makin my boy look tiny. The water was ferocious.

Did a little exploring throughout the day.

Saturday, Mother Nature was a little nicer and provided us with some better riding weather.

This doesn't do justice to the vast amount of riders present.

Didn't seem like the smartest method of transport to me, but who am I to say.

Our spot.

So sexy in his suit.

I was even brave enough to get my toes wet. Freezing.

Sunday I was so sad to leave. Waking up to this view is something I could get used to.

Quick shot of us before we left.

And of course on the way home we had to get some scratch offs. Only got us $3.

So sleeeeepy....

I totally don't feel like writing this right now but I missed last weekend's update and also I vowed last week that I would start caring for and nurturing this little blog baby more than I have been. Because, letsbehonest, I've been flat out neglecting the blogging world. So even though I am worn out from work, here goes:

Friday I had an off day, I spent the day around the house doing some cleaning and then I ran some errands. Totes awesome. That night we went to watch a friend play guitar and shoot a little pool. Came home early, of course.

Saturday, I worked my 12 then came home and folded a lot of laundry (which is still on my couch, no judging) and then went to bed.

Sunday was pretty much the same as Saturday. Minus the laundry.

I have such an exciting life, right? But forreal, I do love my life and I know I am so blessed to have a good job and a boy that loves me back. Sorry I forgot to take any pictures. But here's this:

Happy Monday!

And on another exciting note, I haven't missed a day at the gym yet, since right after Christmas. I used to make excuses or claim I was too tired but that was just the laziness coming out in me. Yes getting up before 5 am sucks major cajones, yes I am dog-tired at the end of the day (like today) but I am motivated by the small changes I am seeing in the mirror day to day. So now I want to give a shout out to anyone else that is struggling with anything, I know you have it in you to do it! You go girl (or guy)! TTFN

I know what you did last weekend....

What up blog world? I know, you haven't heard from me since I found out I had the flu. You probably were all sick with worry and thought I died right, but couldn't do anything about it because you didn't have my number? Its cool. I'm still kickin'. So I'll update you on my entire week instead of just the weekend.

Due to my diagnosis I had an entire five days of prescribed nothingness. So I took full advantage of that and did a lot of sleeping, COD playing, sneezing,  soup eating/slurping, cuddling, sleeping, barking like a dog coughing, and maybe I got a couple naps in. Sounds awesome right? It kinda was.... minus feeling like poo.

Monday I did a lot of sleeping. Except I wasn't Asian. And I was a lot sweatier.

Tuesday I got this bad boy. I look happy but really I was miserable. Still sick + <40 degrees = unhappy Kalyn. Oh well cause my tree is the bombdotcom.

Wednesday and Thursday aren't really worth mentioning. Nothing exciting happened. I attempted to shop but I was too sick. Scary, right?

Friday I was the "coin" that chose which truck D would buy. I chose this one, ain't she perdy?

Friday night there was a lot of this.

Saturday Derek and I ventured out to a "White Trash Christmas Bash." So I did jorts and a vest. Very festive.

Saturday, Sunday and today I was very busy being a nurse. Having a week off was nice, but I was so glad to get to work and see my residents. It was nice that they were glad to see me and have me back too.

Tonight there is some of this going on.

I hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend. I am linking up with Sami @ Sami's Shenanigans and Leeann @ Join the Gossip for the Weekend Update and you should too!

Barred from society...

...because I have the flu. Which is really crappy because I just got over a nasty sinus infection (remember this post?) less than two weeks ago. It all started Saturday with this little *tickle* cough. Then late Saturday night/early Sunday morning I started getting shortness of breath, cold sweats, body-shaking chills. Sunday I was so fatigued and achy that I barely even got out of bed. So today I went to the doc and they confirmed my worst fears by diagnosing me with the flu. Awesome.

Buuuut some pretty awesome things happened this weekend too. 1) My brother's football team one the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game Friday night. 2) My amazing, smart, handsome, totally amazing boyfriend graduated from Auburn University with his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. The two of these filled me with so much pride and happiness I really could have exploded.

Some pictures of Kev (#12) from the game:

Kev diving across the goal line to add 6 to the scoreboard.

Aaaand I didn't get any pictures at D's graduation because I'm a bad girlfriend and didn't bring a camera. But here's us afterward:

Ain't we cute?

A day behind

I know it's Tuesday and not Monday but whatevs, here's my weekend update:

Friday, I spent the day lounging around my apartment waiting on the BF to arrive from school. Then he and I drove to Bristol, FL to watch my little brother play football. Kevin is a senior this year and plays quarterback for Northview (also my Alma Mater). The 3.5 hour drive was well worth it, because the Chiefs spanked dat tail. This was the third round of the playoffs and if they won (which they did) they would move on to play in the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game in Orlando.

Kevin on the sidelines (I know its blurry, darn my phone).

Awkward squat

Me and Kev after the game. So proud of him.

I decided to come back to the stands after getting my foot stepped on... but here's all of our fans after rushing the field.

Saturday, after getting just a few hours of sleep, I went to work. Man that was tough. But, gotta make that paper, ya know. Saturday night D and I chillaxed at the house with pizza and a redbox, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World with Steve Carrell and Keira Knightenly. It was alright, I have to admit I like Kiera better in period films.

Sunday, was filled with work again. And coming home and falling in to bed at 8:30 and passing out with all my clothes on and lights on in my apartment because I was so exhausted. This later resulted in my waking up rather forcefully not knowing where I was or really even who I was around 2:30 am. Oh well, that 10 hours of sleep on a work night was nice.

How was your weekend?
